P J Rudden is the Chairman of Innovation and Digital Adoption at the Construction Sector Group (CSG) appointed by the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform in September 2020. He is the Founder/MD of Aengus Consulting and recently appointed Independent Non Executive Director of Codema, Dublin’s Energy Agency owned by the four Dublin Local Authorities. He has spent most of his career with RPS Europe advising on the planning, design, procurement and stakeholder engagement and project management of major public and private infrastructure projects in energy, transport, water, housing and resource management. In this role he advised the EU Commission, Governments, Regulators, State Bodies, local authorities and the private sector on environment policy, infrastructure development, renewable energy, circular economy and project communications.
He is a former President of Engineers Ireland, former president of UCD Engineering Graduates Association and former Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Engineers Journal. From 2014 to 2019, he was senior consultant to gas utilities in the UK on innovation, robotics and artificial intelligence and won a number of UK Business Awards for both innovation and business. From 2010 to 2019 he was Director of the EU Commission Secretariat on the European Green Capital and European Green Leaf projects on sustainable urban living, overseeing both technical and communications aspects of both projects. He was the Inaugural recipient of the UCD EGA Distinguished Graduate Award in 2002 for public communications and later UCD Lecturer in Circular Economy and Resource Management in 2018. .
