Emer is a Chartered Surveyor of SCSI/RICS having graduated from UCD with a science degree followed by a degree in property and a MSc in Sustainable Development. She has over 30 years’ experience in the real estate sector valuing and advising across commercial, mixed use, residential and infrastructure projects for both public and private sector clients.
Currently she lectures across all undergrad and post grad property programmes in TU Dublin and sits on the board of the Property Services Regulatory Authority (PSRA).
Emer has broadened the scope to incorporate all matters related to sustainability and the built environment into her teaching on the property programmes after completing her Masters in Sustainable Development in 2012. This interest has extended into research in matters related to sustainability, valuations and the built environment.
With her consistent drive to improve knowledge and expertise among her students and colleagues in industry, Emer is a frequently involved in continuing professional development for the Society of Chartered Surveyors (SCSI) and is Chair of the SCSI council’s – Sustainable Development Working Group.
She has been invited to use this expertise as judge in the Irish Construction Excellence Awards (2022/2024 & 2024) Emer is driven towards working collaboratively and keeping relevant in a consistently dynamic industry.
