Colin Bray

Colin Bray is Head of National Mapping, Tailte Éireann and was previously ten years CEO and Chief Survey Officer of Ordnance Survey Ireland (OSi), the Irish national mapping agency. With twenty-five years’ experience in strategic geospatial information management, Colin is a member of the national Data Governance Board and for the last four years has been elected President of EuroGeographics, the association of Heads of European National Mapping, Cadastral and Land Registration Authorities. He is a past member of the European Executive Committee of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) and a Past-President of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI), the independent professional body representing over 5,000 chartered surveyors practising in Ireland. Colin led OSi since 2013, having joined in 1998 as a professional surveyor and then becoming OSi’s Chief Technology Officer. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Organisational Behaviour, a European Honours degree in Geodetic Engineering, and a Diploma in Geo-Surveying.
