Oliver Guinan is a 16-year veteran of the internet industry from Tullamore, Ireland and is currently based in the San Francisco Bay area. After starting his career in the internet mapping industry, Oliver has developed, deployed, and supported some of the largest consumer internet applications in the world. This included a number of years at Yahoo! in their Media Group, which includes the world-leading news, finance, and sports websites.
Oliver has worked at several startup companies that were focused on simplifying the process of turning large quantities of data into manageable information.
Oliver holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Trinity College, Dublin Ireland. Currently leading a software engineering team at Google that exploits the information contained in satellite images.
Prior to Google: Vice President of Ground Software at Skybox Imaging, provider of unprecedented insight into daily global activity. Lead development of Mission Control, Scheduling, Image Processing Pipeline systems. Key member of the management team that grew the company from 10 to 150 people and a $500M acquisition by Google.
