Niamh O Reilly lectures in Geomatics at the Dublin Institute of Technology, Bolton Street. She is a chartered surveyor and will take up the role of the chairperson of the Geomatics Professional group over the coming year. She has been part of a number of working groups within the society on developing guidance documents for chartered surveyors. Most recently she has been part of the working group that have adapted the new suite of guidance documents for Measured Surveys of land, buildings and utilities. Previously Niamh was part of the cross professional working group that developed the new SCSI Right to Light guidance document. Her research interests include Geographical Information Science; web GIS, Geomatics and land management. Niamh is currently undertaking a PhD which is being funded through a bursary from the Road Safety Authority and focuses on evaluating the safety of cycling in Dublin city. This research combines many important elements of Geomatics including 3D point cloud, spatial analysis and web development.
