Simon first trained as a geologist, gaining a MSc and PhD at London universities. He worked for an oil services company before changing direction in 2003 and becoming an environmental scientist with RPS. Simon joined Limerick County Council in 2008, now Limerick City and County Council, and is a Scientist working in their strategic and policy department.
He has a particular passion for noise and has gained a post-graduate Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control and is a full member of the Institute of Acoustics, UK. Simon’s main responsibilities in the Council are noise action planning and policy development.
